Calchas left alone her widowed daughter.

Criseida was her name, and according to my opinion,

 she was the most wise, honest, sensible and well mannered woman

 born in Troy, till then.

Aware of the rumours about her father’s leak,

 so pained and so angry for the situation,

 with a mourning dress,  she fell to Ettore’s feet;

 with a very sad voice and gaze, she apologized,

 accusing her father’s behaviour and asking mercy for her.

Since Hector was a compassionate man,

 when he saw Criseida crying,

 the most beautiful creature ever seen,

 he tried to console her using these wise and sweet words:

- Since he offended me so much, let your father go with bad chance,

and you, if you want, safe, joyful  and happy,

 you can stay here, in Troy-.

Senza dire nemmeno una parola, Calcante lascia sola la figlia rimasta vedova. Era così bella e angelica  che non sembrava una persona mortale. Criseida era il suo nome , e secondo me,  lei era la donna più saggia, onesta, sensibile e ben educata  nata a Troia fino ad ora.   Consapevoli delle voci sulla perdita di suo padre,  così sofferente e così arrabbiato per la situazione,  con un vestito da lutto , cadde ai piedi di Ettore;  con una voce e sguardo molto tristi, si scusò,  accusando il comportamento del padre e chiedendo pietà per lei.   Visto che Ettore era un uomo compassionevole,  quando vide Criseida piangere,  la creatura più bella mai vista,  ha cercato di consolarla con queste parole sagge e dolci: - Dal momento che mi ha offeso così tanto, lasciate che tuo padre vada con cattive possibilità , e tu, se vuoi, sicura, gioiosa e felice,  si può stare qui, a Troia- .
